Its Turkey time!!


Wild Turkey in Mushroom Sauce
 
6     cups wild turkey breast
      (cubed into 1 inch pieces)
2     tablespoons butter
2     cans cream of mushroom soup
       (10 ounces each)
1     cup of sour cream
16   ounces of fresh white mushrooms (sliced)
1/4  cup chicken broth
1/2  teaspoon garlic powder
1/2  teaspoon season salt
1/2  teaspoon pepper
 
 
   In a large skillet, melt butter, when butter is melted add the 6 cups of cubed wild turkey, stir occasionally, then while turkey is browning, in a large bowl add mushroom soup, sour cream, sliced white mushrooms, chicken broth, garlic powder, season salt and pepper, take wooden spoon and mix well until all is mixed in, after wild turkey has cooked for about 20 minutes add mushroom sauce to skillet. bring to a boil then let simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve over noodles or rice.

Roasted Wild Turkey
 
1     wild turkey (cleaned)
3     cups water
2     sticks of butter (melted)
1     clove garlic (chopped)
1/4  cup honey
1/4  cup brown sugar
 
 
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Place turkey in a foil turkey tray. Add the water to the tray, then melt butter and baste turkey with the melted butter. Next, put the chopped garlic in the cavity of the turkey, then baste the 1/4 cup of honey all over the turkey, then using your fingers sprinkle the brown sugar all over the turkey covering it evenly. Cook at 350 degrees for about 5 hours. Meat thermometer should read 180 degrees. Carve and serve.

Deep Fried Wild Turkey Strips
 
1     wild turkey breast
     (cut into small strips)
5     cups of bisquick
1/2  teaspoon garlic powder
1/2  teaspoon onion powder
1/2  teaspoon season salt
1/2  teaspoon black pepper
 
 
If cooking on the stove heat oil to 375 degrees and have at least 3 inches of oil in your large sauce pan, if cooking in a turkey deep fryer, have about the same amount of oil 3 inches deep and also heat to 375 degrees. in a gallon ziplock baggie add 5 cups of bisquick, garlic powder, onion powder, season salt and pepper, seal bag and shake to mix in ingredients, after ingredients are mixed, open bag and place wild turkey strips into bag, seal and shake coating your wild turkey strips, after coating, remove turkey strips from the baggie and place in hot oil frying them until golden brown, when strips turn golden brown remove from oil, I usually cook about 8 to 10 strips at a time.
